How To Hang Plates without Plate Holders

Hanging plates on the wall is an easy and inexpensive way to decorate. You can just buy them at the thrift store and spray paint them any color you want! Trust me, even the ugliest of plates can be beautiful. Don’t believe me? Check out my Valentine’s Day plate? Go look, I’ll wait. :)

Oh good, you’re back.

I love the look of plates on a wall. What I don’t love? Those ugly plate holders that show at the bottom and top of the plates. I wanted to come up with a way to hang plates so that all you see are the plates.
And I have come up with a solution!!

It started with two plates that I bought for 50¢ each a couple months ago. I had already spray painted them white, so they were ready to go.

I bought a pack of these guys at the Dollar Store:

The hangers come with adhesive on the back, but it is not strong enough to hold the weight of plates. So I peeled off the sticker and added super glue.

Now just pound a nail in your wall and use that little metal hole to hang your plate. No ugly plate brackets needed!!

I hung mine above the light switch in my master bathroom. I added a couple of monograms to the plates, hung a knob, then drooped some ribbon over the knob. Pounded in a couple of nails, and hung my plates. Whada ya think?
