Halloween Recipes: Candy Corn Bread and Frankenstein Jello

Ooops, sorry about the lack of post yesterday. I was up at my parents’ house with my family and thought I had a post scheduled. But apparently I messed something up. To make up for my slackerness, I will share two Halloween recipes today.

Candy Corn Bread
1 loaf frozen dough, thawed (I actually made my own using this recipe.)
Grated cheddar cheese
Grated mozzarella cheese
Roll bread dough out into a circle. I should have rolled mine out more carefully, it was a little lopsided. Place the dough on a greased cookie sheet. I didn’t let mine raise, but you can if you want. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese in a ring on the outside edge of the dough. Then sprinkle cheddar cheese in a ring just inside the mozzarella. Leave the very middle of the dough plain. Bake at 425° for about 12 minutes.

Now use a pizza cutter to cut into wedges. You should have triangle shapes that look like candy corn:

Isn’t that fun!! And yes, I should have cut my pieces a little larger. But there’s nothing wrong with skinny candy corn, right?

This next Halloween recipe is one that we made today at my mom’s house. The kids all loved it and had fun decorating their own monsters. Most of them had them eaten before I could even get a picture!
Frankenstein Jello
1 6oz box of lime jello
1 1/4 cups boiling water
Coconut
Mini M&M’s
Gumdrop fruit slices
Mini marshmallows
Dissolve jello in boiling water. Stir till dissolved. Pour into an 8″ pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Chill for at least 4 hours or till firm. Cut into rectangles. Dip bottom of pan into hot water to loosen jello from the sides. Remove onto plates. Decorate with M&M’s for eyes, cut up gumdrop fruit slices for nose and mouth, coconut for hair, and marshmallows for neck bolts.
