Have you seen the painter's drop cloth curtains all over blog land? They're everywhere. I've been meaning to make some for months, but finally got around to it. Woohoo!

Last fall, we sold our flowery living room couches in a yard sale. We moved the chocolate brown leather sofa up from the basement. One problem. The room was decorated for flowery blue couches. Wait, that's not a problem, that means I get to REDECORATE! Hooray!

I decided that a good place to start was the window treatments. They were lace and totally didn't match the leather couch. It was embarrassing. They had to go.

So I bought two painter's drop cloths from Home Depot. Washed and dried them. They shrink A LOT! If you ever want to use them, make sure you wash and dry them first or you will be very sad. I cut them up the middle because I needed narrow curtains on the sides of each window. Then I hemmed up the bottoms and the sides that I had cut. Easy peasy. The hardest part was hanging the curtain rods. I was impatient and didn't want to wait for my hubbie to have time to help me. Times like these I wish I wasn't so dang short. But I got it done.

Looove how they turned out! And they were only $20. You know I love that!!
