A few weeks ago I was contacted by a member of the Purdy Paintbrush marketing team and was asked if I'd like to do a review of one of their paint kits. I was thrilled for two reasons. One-I'm redecorating our main floor, and I'm planning on doing a lot of painting. Two-I already own and love a 1 1/2" Purdy brush, and I've been wanting a bigger one for awhile now.
They sent me a paint kit that includes a 2 1/2" angled brush, and a 6 in 1 painters tool. Perfect!
I decided to tackle the most abused baseboard in our house. It's right off the entry, and with four boys, it takes a beating. I can't believe I'm showing this to you.
I know, it's beyond horrific.
Wanna see another fun project I did using my Purdy brush? Last year, I used my 1 1/2" brush to paint my $20 Craigslist entry table. It turned out fantastic if I do say so myself.
Here's why I love my Purdy paint brushes:
-They leave a nice smooth finish that is free of streaks.
-It is much easier to paint a straight edge with these high quality angled paintbrush than it is with a cheapo brand.
-They are very well constructed and the bristles are firmly attached. When I used to use cheap brushes, the bristles would fall off on my paint job. Very frustrating! That has never happened with my Purdy brush.
-They last a long time. I've had my first one for almost 10 years, and it still works like a charm.
I also used the paint tool, and liked it as well. I used the small edge to open my paint can, and when I was finished I used the handle to pound it back on. I thought it was handy to have one tool replacing my screwdriver and hammer.
Bottom line, I highly, highly recommend Purdy paint brushes. I will never buy a cheap brush again. If all you've ever used is the cheapest brush at the store, I promise you will notice a difference if you try one of these awesome brushes.
