Drowning My Sorrows in Ruffles

We have had a string of bad luck the last few weeks.
First the brakes in our SUV went out. Goodbye $980.
Then an ice dam in our gutter caused water to leak into the house.
No idea how much that is going to cost.
Now our dishwasher is broken.
It will be $250 to fix it, so we might as well just get a new one.
And we’ve only had it for about 4 years, danggit!

I needed a little cheering up. A diversion.
So I headed to my favorite little quilt shop to drool over the cute fabrics.
I wasn’t planning on spending any money.
But then I saw this:
I swear it practically jumped right off the display.
OK, maybe I’m just klutzy and I bumped into it.
Whatever. I knew it was meant to be mine.
And it was on sale.
Who am I to mess with destiny?

I brought it home, curled up in a chair, and looked at every single page.  Oh. My. Cuteness. 23 projects, every one of them adorable. And ruffle-y. I feel better already. And I didn’t even need to consume extra calories. :)

    • Dang, sorry about your microwave. :( You should definitely head to the fabric store. It’s a guaranteed picker upper.

  2. Kara, you make me smile:)
