Winter Decorating Update

Thanks for all your awesome suggestions about filling my half empty apothecary lamp. I knew I could count on you guys!! Wendy suggested putting batting in the bottom to look like snow. Sometimes its the simple ideas that are the best. Thanks Wendy! I already have loads of batting, so it was an easy fix. You gotta love that! Here it is now:
decorating-ideasI've been so busy with the kitchen makeover that I haven't had much time for winter decorating. And now January is half over. So I'm thinking I'll skip putting up the rest of the winter stuff and just focus on Valentine's Day. I'm in the mood already. I made up a batch of the most amazing cherry cheesecake cupcakes that I can't wait to share with you. Perfect Valentine treat!

But I did manage to make one new winter decoration this year. I was actually planning on making it for the White Challenge over at The CSI Project, but I didn't get it done in time. Because I was up to my eyeballs in paint prep. One of my least favorite jobs on the planet, especially if it involves wallpaper removal.  Which is absolutely H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E. But my kitchen is painted and that is the important part. But back to the wreath. It is simple, but I love its pure white-ness. I don't think I've ever made anything totally white before. I'm gonna have to start, because I didn't realize how much I like it. So fresh and clean!
decorating-ideaMy camera on the other hand, did not like it. It did not want to focus. This was the best shot out of at least a dozen tries. Grrr.

Do you decorate for winter, or do you just skip to Valentine's Day?

  1. I love your wreath! I have a bare spot above my fireplace that's perfect for a wreath. I guess I'd better get crafting! :)
