I enjoy decorating my home. Making it more orderly. Making it more beautiful. But sometimes I get a little carried away. I forget that what happens inside my home is more important than what is hanging on the walls. I read this quote the other day and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
“I feel satisfied that there is no adequate substitute for the morning and evening practice of kneeling together-father, mother, and children. This, more than heavy carpet, more than lovely draperies, and more than cleverly balanced color schemes, is the thing that will make for better and more beautiful homes.” -Gordon B. Hinckley
We usually try to have family prayer together. Lately we have been so busy, that sometimes at the end of a long day, we have let it slide. We’ve just sent the boys off to bed. But I know that when we do pray together as a family, it makes a difference in the feeling in our home. We have a little less arguing, and a little more cooperation. A little more gratitude. Are we perfect? No, absolutely not! But we do have a better atmosphere in our home. And that is way more important than having picture perfect decor. I just needed a little reminder of that.
Hope all of you have a fabulous Sunday today!!!
