Slowly but surely the living room is coming together. I think I almost have the shelf above the piano done. I re- arranged it over a dozen times, and finally realized it needed something tall on it. Enter a trash to treasure project. I dug through my extensive stash and pulled out this plaque:
I bought it for a dollar at a yard sale last year. Pretty, no? After a bit, (or maybe a lot) of scraping and sanding to remove the paper from the front, I had a smooth surface to work with. Then I primed it and used Krylon spray paint in Blue Ocean Breeze. Added vinyl lettering. And now I have this. . .

I used the theme that our church has the youth recite every week. Thought it would be a good reminder for my boys. And when it changes next year, I can easily replace it with the new theme. Ah, the joys of vinyl lettering!
I've got one last project to complete, and then the shelf will be finished and I'll show it to ya! I know you're all holding your breath. ![]()

I love this and what a great reminder. I need to make one so my kids will see it everyday. I love the color you chose too.
Thanks Leanne! I'm hoping it will help me too!
