Paint, Paint, and More Paint

I am in the process of re-decorating our foyer. It's a two story, so there's a lot of wall space to work with. Which means more decorating decisions. And more stuff needed to fill the space. We've got a shelf that's been hanging over the door for a few years. It's a red color, and I've been updating to a robin-egg blue color, so I knew it needed a face lift. I debated about painting it black, but decided I wanted to brighten up the space and go with white.

I was going to use spray paint, but realized that there were lots of tight corners. See what I mean?
painting furnitureI knew if I tried getting into all those tiny spaces with my spray paint can, I would make a bucketload of drips. So I knew I would have to do it by hand. I opted for the sponge brush method because it leaves a smooth finish, which we all love.

Any guesses how many coats of white paint I've done so far? Hint: A Lot.

Did I mention that the shelf is taller than I am?
painting furnitureYep, this puppy is taking awhile. But when it's up on the wall decorated all purdy, it will be so worth it!

  1. Sometimes the smallest projects take the longest. :) It will be beautiful when it's done.
