I first tried this amazing toffee caramel fruit dip at a friends house years ago. After one bite I was completely and utterly hooked. It is sinfully addicting. Usually I only say that about cheesecake. And chocolate in various forms. But this dip is decadent.
When I serve it, my boys can finish off an entire bag of apples in one sitting. It’s the kind of yummy that makes you want to lick the bowl clean after you run out of apples. Not that I’ve done that. But I have been tempted. The brown sugar gives it the caramel flavor, and the toffee bits add a bit of crunch and some awesome flavor. After the dip sits for awhile, the toffee bits melt into gooey bits of yumminess. Both ways are delicious.
I’m pretty sure your apple want to be dunked in this stuff. So go make some. And if you happen to lick the bowl, I will not be one to mock.
Toffee Caramel Fruit Dip
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup toffee bits
Beat cream cheese, sugars, and vanilla till smooth. Stir in toffee bits right before serving. (I like to reserve some to sprinkle on top.) Serve with fresh fruit. Apples are our favorite!
