Toffee Caramel Fruit Dip

Affiliate link disclosure for toffee caramel fruit dipI first tried this amazing toffee caramel fruit dip at a friends house years ago. After one bite I was completely and utterly hooked. It is  sinfully addicting. Usually I only say that about cheesecake. And chocolate in various forms. But this dip is decadent.
This Toffee Caramel Fruit Dip is my favorite dip for apples- ever!!

When I serve it, my boys can finish off an entire bag of apples in one sitting.  It’s the kind of yummy that makes you want to lick the bowl clean after you run out of apples. Not that I’ve done that. But I have been tempted. The brown sugar gives it the caramel flavor, and the toffee bits add a bit of crunch and some awesome flavor. After the dip sits for awhile, the toffee bits melt into gooey bits of yumminess. Both ways are delicious.

I’m pretty sure your apples want to be dunked in this stuff. So go make some. And if you happen to lick the bowl, I will not be one to mock. 😉

Instructions
  1. Beat cream cheese, sugars, and vanilla till smooth. Stir in toffee bits right before serving. (I like to reserve some to sprinkle on top.)
  2. Serve with fresh fruit. Apples are our favorite!

  2. Any tips on how to keep sliced apples from turning brown? I’ve heard salt water (1/8 cup salt to quart water), lemon juice, Sprite, OJ. What do you do, Kara? I’m doing this for a party so I’d like to slice at least 10 apples at once and store them for a few hours… Can’t wait to try this, doubling it (or tripling), of course! Sounds delish!

    • I’ve heard that lime juice works the best at preventing browning, but I’ve never found anything that works for several hours. When I serve this at parties, I just slice the apples as they are needed. Kind of a pain, but at least they look and taste good!

    • My boys think it makes a perfect after school snack. I just have to make sure they don’t eat so much that they make a meal out of it. 😉
