I decided it was high time to accessorize the beadboard bookcase shelf that I transformed back in February. And yes, I am just putting up my spring sign. My kids are done with school this Friday, which means it is the start of summer. In two days. See, I told you I'm behind.

I had lots of ideas for decorating this shelf, but in the end I just went with very simple decor, most of which I already had. The only thing I had to make (besides the spring sign) was the little fabric rosette ball.

I went with a very simple color scheme, just aqua and some greenery. I love how it pops against the white shelf.

I am kind of obsessed with little birds. At my house, they aren't just reserved for spring decorating, I leave them out all year long. I have several different ones, and they migrate from shelf to shelf. I think they are just so darn cute!

Yep, it kinda freaked me out a little too.
I mean who gets to talk on the phone with the host of one of their favorite TV shows?
Oh wait, that would be me.

Don't worry, I won't let it go to my head.
He actually contacted me not because of one of my awesome projects, but because of one of my DIY Disasters.
That tends to put one in ones place, no?

This is actually the second time I've been on the show.
The first was when I talked about my failed attempt at painting my garage door.
So basically I'm the go-to girl for DIY Disasters. Awesome.
But hey, at least I get to be on the radio. With Frank Fontana.

P.S. It is waaay less stressful being on the radio than it is being on television. Don't tell Frank, but I didn't even dress up. I was wearing yoga pants, a paint splattered shirt, and my ugly crocs. You can't tell that in my voice can you?
