M&M Chocolate Christmas Cookies - these chocolate cookies are perfect for Christmas or any other holiday!

I love a good chocolate chip M&M cookie, but one day I was craving something even more chocolatey, so I decided to try a chocolate version. It’s a pretty close competition, but I think I might like this version even more!

Soft and fudgy M&M chocolate cookies are always a favorite!

They turned out nice and chewy, and perfectly soft. They are loaded with chocolate chips, and the red and green M&M’s make them just perfect for Christmas. I opted to use the mini M&M’s this time, and they are perfect because you get more in every bite.

Thick, chewy, and loaded with M&Ms, these Chocolate Cookies are always a hit!

I don’t know anyone who can resist an M&M cookie, and these would look especially pretty on a Christmas goodie tray. And of course they would make great neighbor gifts!

Chocolate M&M Cookies
Yield: 3 1/2 dozen
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 11oz bag Mini Christmas M&Ms (or regular M&Ms if you prefer)
  1. Cream butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl till creamy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  2. Sift together flour, cocoa, soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir in with chocolate chips and M&M's.
  3. Drop by rounded spoonfuls (or roll in balls), and place on lightly greased cookie sheets.
  4. Bake at 350° for about 9-10 minutes.
-I like to set aside about 1/2 cup of the M&M's to press into the tops of the cookie dough balls before I bake them. It gives them that pretty bakery look.

  1. I love how these are a little crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I wanted a chocolate based cookie to add mint chips too, so I replaced the vanilla extract with mint and M&M’s with mint chips and they remind me of the Andes mints I love.

  2. Soooo good! Moist, chewy and well balanced flavors. I thought they might be too sweet since I had to make extra wet batter (was too dry when I originally mixed the wet and dry ingredients). Came out great! Made ours bigger so had to cook longer. Used mini chips and M&Ms. Won best cookie in family cookie contest!!

  3. These look so easy to make! Yummy!
