We had a great time at the family reunion. There were fun games, yummy food, and plenty of wild and crazy relatives to visit with. Family rocks!
I spent most of my time with the newest member of the family.
As soon as my sister stepped out of her mini van I was there to snatch little baby Alyssa. I nuzzled her soft little neck. I ran her silky hair through my fingers. I adored her cute chubby baby wrinkles. I inhaled her intoxicating new baby smell. It was marvelous!
Yesterday I did a photo session of her wearing my hair clips. She opened up those beautiful gray blue eyes and looked right at me. My heart melted all over again.
I talked to my sister yesterday. She’s tired. Having a new baby will do that to you. I know that new babies mean sleepless nights, piles of laundry, endless dirty diapers, lots of spit-up, and no energy. I know all these things, but they don’t really matter to me. I’m ready. I can’t wait till we get to bring home our baby girl. I pray for her every day. I pray that her birth mother will find us.
I’m ready for another angel at our house. Thanks Heidi for letting me borrow yours for a few hours!
