Halloween Recipe- Monster Sandwiches

Thank you so much for all the kind words and well wishes. I have the best bloggy friends! Honestly, I don’t remember the last time I was this sick. I am feeling much better today, but I am still really weak and pretty congested. I will be takin’ it easy for awhile so I don’t have a relapse. My husband and boys took such good care of me while I was out of commission. They even made me minestrone soup and homemade bread. And a fabulous pumpkin dessert that I will share the recipe for later this week. I probably shouldn’t have had any, but it was too delicious to pass up. 😉

There are only a few days left until Halloween. Eeeeek! I am not ready! I still have two boys who haven’t nailed down a costume yet. Are you all prepared at your house?

If you’re still looking for some fun Halloween food ideas, I’ve got a few more to share. We made these cute Monster Sandwiches at my mom’s house last weekend. You could fill them with whatever you want. We used ham and as I was putting them together I came up with the idea to use the ham to make it look like a monster tongue. These are quick and easy and make a fun presentation. My boys normally would have loved putting these together, but they were having too much fun playing football in the backyard, so my mom and I made them this time.

Halloween Recipe- Monster Sandwiches

Dinner rolls
Filling of choice (we used ham)
Condiments
Olives, sliced
Pickles, sliced
Mozzarella cheese
Cheddar Cheese
Cut rolls in half and spread with your choice of condiments. Fill with ham or other meats. Make sure a corner of your ham is sticking out for the tongue. Cut the mozzarella cheese into wedges for fangs and shove them under the ham. Add olive slice eyes, a pickle nose, and some grated cheese for hair. That’s it. Now let your little monsters eat their monster sandwiches.:)
Notes:
-Be creative! You can use whatever you like. You could use carrot noses and pickle fangs. Shredded carrot hair and green olive eyes. Red pepper tongues and sprouts for hair. Anything is possible!! (But if you use anchovies, please don’t tell me about it.)

OK, I’m starting to feel a little groggy and confused, so I’m off to lay down again.
