Spray Painted Candle Holder

We had a fabulous day yesterday. It was my 3rd son’s 9th birthday and we spent some time with my parents. He wanted to go see The Lightening Thief, so we went to the matinee. I thought it was a little intense to be PG,  but we all enjoyed it. My older boys said it was a good movie, but they were mad that it strayed so far from the plot of the book. I told them they better get used to it, Hollywood almost always ruins books! 😉
The weather has been sunny and much warmer, so I have been able to do some spray painting again. Hooray!!

I had this little canister that held a Christmas candle:

When it had all burned out, I decided I could re-purpose it. I rubbed out all the excess wax, then gave it a good washing.

I wanted to be able to use it all year, so I sprayed it with a couple coats of Heirloom White spray paint:

Then I designed and cut some monograms with my Silhouette. I like my spray painted candle holder so much better now!

It will be sitting on my kitchen windowsill holding box tops for my boys’ school, and other odds and ends that have no other home.
