I’m glad you are reading this. Because if you are reading, it means I didn’t offend you too badly with my rant about darn word verification. Thanks for all your comments! I learned that some people didn’t even know their word verification was on. If you have it, and you want to get rid of it, here is how you do it:
-Go to your blog and click “Customize” in the top left corner.
-Click on the “Settings” tab.
-Click on “Comments”
-Scroll down to the bottom of the page. One of the last questions is “Show word verification for comments?”. Select no.
-Click the “Save Settings” button at the very bottom.
If you try it out and want to know if you were successful, let me know and I will go leave a comment on your blog, then get back to you.
I also learned that a few people have had problems with spammers. That really stinks! Some of you deal with the problem by using word verification, others deal with it my using comment moderation. I know as a reader, I prefer comment moderation, even though my comment doesn’t show up right away. I am curious what other bloggers think, so I put up a little poll (in the top left corner.) Let me know your opinion. This is life changing stuff people. 😉
Alrighty, back to thrifty decorating.
I was having a hard time deciding what the accent color should be in my master bathroom. I was totally leaning towards red. Then we happened to be at Target and I came across these towels:They are reversible. I had to have them.
So, now our accent color is light blue. Similar to robin’s egg blue I think.
I was so excited that I just had to make a decoration. Even though I still don’t have a toilet and I need to paint around the shower and cabinet trim. Even though my counter top is full of screwdrivers, painter’s tape, wrenches, paint, and brushes. I needed to make somethin’ pretty!
And this candle that I bought on clearance for $1:
And two of these bags of rocks from the dollar store:The base of the hurricane lamp was dark grey, so I gave it a coat of spray paint (in oil rubbed bronze of course).
Unwrapped the candle. Duh.Then I dug through my scrapbook paper and found some scraps. Wrapped them around the candle and attached with my ATG tape gun. Tied a piece of sheer chocolate ribbon around the whole thing:Then put it in the base with the river rocks. It is going to look so good in my bathroom! If I ever get my bathroom done that is. Sigh.
Not bad for five bucks!
