I took my Christmas decorations down two weeks ago. And I still haven’t had the time to fill the now empty spaces around the house. It’s been bugging me that my entry table is totally nekked. Well, except for all the dust bunnies and pine needle remnants. Yes, I’m a slacker. Yes, I am admitting that I haven’t dusted for two weeks. I’ve been busy.
Anyway, I’ve been wanting to winterize my entry table, but haven’t been able to decide which direction I wanted to go. Then on Saturday I happened to be at Walmart and I checked out the Christmas clearance section. Found these beauties:
For twenty.five.cents. Woohoo! I knew they would look fab in my apothecary lamp, so I snatched them as fast as I could. Today I opened them up and put them in my lamp.
BLAST! They don’t fill it up! I hate it when that happens! 🙁
Chances that they will have more left tomorrow are very slim. So I’m thinking I’m going to have to come up with something else to help fill the spaces. Anybody have any great winter-y ideas?
Oooh ooh, you could do some of these (http://www.alittletipsy.com/2010/12/vacating-for-holidays.html) 3d paper snowflakes on a small scale and layer them tn blue and white or mix them with the ornaments.
I love those snowflakes, and I even know how to make them. I shoulda thought of that!
Snowflakes! Surely there are some in with the other Christmas clearance stuff.
Do you have any balls in cream colour or silver to fill in? Its a very cute idea, btw!
Unfortunately no. And the store didn’t have any of those left either. π
LOVE the lamp!!! I wonder if hubby could make me one…
That lampshade is amazing! It would look great in my living room. Mind if I steal it…? Haha π

I would love if you’d steal it. That’s what blogging is for, right? Sharing ideas is the whole reason I blog! π
The epsom salt would look just like snow in the bottom…and rolling syrafoam balls or ping pong balls in mod podge and then in epsom salt makes fantastic “snowballs.”
add some pinecones AND some epsom salts( in the bottom-then add pinecones and blue balls) to make it look like snow.
you could pick up a pack of ping pong balls. spray them or roll them in glue. then roll them in some glass glitter, st on wax paper to dry. this will add some “snowballs” with the ornaments. π
I (like the first commenter) was thinking something to make it look like snow in the bottom would be cute.
How about pine cones?
Pine tree branch? Make it wrap around the inside.
you could see if you could find some in another color, white, silver, burgandy, etc
batting, the stuff you stuff pilllows with it will look like snow….or silk flowers hugs wendy
