Ingredients

  • 12 King's Hawaiian rolls or other small dinner rolls cut in half
  • 2 Tbsp salted butter optional

Filling:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ¼ cup diced onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 ½ Tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • ½ cup diced dill pickle
  • 10 ounces cheddar cheese sliced

Glaze:

  • 2 Tbsp salted butter melted
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Optional, but tasty - spread both sides of the cut rolls with butter. Place butter side up on a baking sheet and broil until golden brown. Watch closely!
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • For the filling: Brown beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any grease.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, salt, pepper, worcestershire, mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Heat through.
  • Place the bottom half of each bun in a 9x13" baking dish. Divide the meat mixture between the buns. Sprinkle the diced pickle over the meat. Arrange the cheese slices on top. Cover each slider with a top bun.
  • Whisk together the melted butter, salt, brown sugar, and worcestershire sauce in a small bowl. Brush over the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.
  • Bake the sliders at 350 for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.

Notes

  • To save time, I like to toast the buns while the meat is browning.
  • You can assemble this ahead of time, cover, and refrigerate them for several hours or even overnight. They will need to bake for 15 minutes covered, and 10- 15 minutes uncovered.
