Loaded with ground beef and fresh vegetables, this hamburger stew recipe is inexpensive, hearty, and delicious! A perfect one pot meal on a cold night.
In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until the meat is completely brown. Drain off any excess fat.
Add the garlic and saute for about 30 seconds. Add the flour and stir until all the meat is coated.
Stir in the carrots, celery, potato cubes, diced tomatoes, broth, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender. Stir occasionally, and add a little water if the stew is getting too thick.
Notes
We like our stew on the thick side. For a more soup like stew, add additional beef broth.
