Taco night just got tastier! You can whip up this homemade taco seasoning recipe in less than 5 minutes, and adapt the spices to your own liking.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika or regular paprika
  • 4 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl. Store in an airtight container for up to a year.
  • To make taco meat: Brown a pound of ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off all fat.
  • Add about 3 tablespoons of your homemade taco seasoning to the drained meat, then add 1/4 cup of water.
  • Simmer for 5-10 minutes, adding more water if mixture seems dry.

Notes

Nutrition information is based on using 3 tablespoons of mix per pound of ground beef, and six servings per pound.
