In a large soup pot, brown the ground beef and onion over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook another minute. Drain off any excess fat.
Add the broth, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire, sugar, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the macaroni and simmer for about 8 minutes, or until noodles are tender.
Add the veggies and heat through. Taste and add salt or additional seasonings if desired.

-Sugar may seem like a strange ingredient in soup, but it helps cut the acidity of the tomatoes.
