- ½ cup butter
- 2 Tbsp flour
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 cups whipping cream
- ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 2 cloves garlic minced (optional)
- 1 pound fettuccine noodles cooked in salted water
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium low heat. Whisk in flour, then milk. Cook and stir for at least one minute.
Stir in cream, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic. Cook and stir until cheese is melted, but don't boil.
Serve over hot pasta.
