Ingredients

Crust/Topping:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • tsp salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¾ cup butter melted

Filling:

  • 6-7 apples peeled and sliced
  • cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • For crust, mix all ingredients till crumbly. Take half of the crumbs and press them into the bottom and up the sides of a Deep Dish Pie Plate.
  • Combine apples, sugar, and cinnamon and pour into crust. (You should have a mound in the middle-don’t worry. It will shrink as it bakes.)
  • Spread the remaining crumbs over the top of the apples. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes or till apples are tender. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
  • Roll yourself away from the table. Promise to eat healthier tomorrow.
