Bow Tie Skillet Lasagna

Ingredients
  

  • ½ pound ground beef
  • ½ pound pork sausage
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 14 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 ½ cups dry bowtie pasta
  • ¾ cup cottage cheese
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

  • Brown ground beef, sausage, and onion in a large skillet; drain off any fat. Add remaining ingredients except cheeses.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes or till pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir together cottage cheese and parmesan in a small bowl; drop by spoonfuls over tomato/meat mixture.
  • Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and let cook for a couple more minutes or till melted.

Notes

-You can just use a pound of ground beef in place of the sausage if you like.
-If you don't have bow tie pasta, you could use another kind. It may take more or less time to cook, so just check it for doneness.
