This amazing broccoli salad recipe is sweet, salty, and crunchy! It is a great salad recipe any time of year, and is perfect for potlucks.

Ingredients
  

Sauce:

  • ¾ cup mayonnaise not Miracle Whip salad dressing!
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

Salad:

  • 1 pound fresh broccoli florets chopped in bite sized pieces
  • 4 green onions sliced (or 1/4 of a red onion)
  • 1 cup Craisins
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 12 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • ¾ cup roasted salted sunflower seeds

Instructions
 

  • Cook your bacon until very crisp. Let cool, then crumble.
  • Combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Whisk till smooth. Cover and chill until ready to use.
  • Wash and chop the broccoli and celery.
  • Place the chopped broccoli, onions, Craisins, and celery in a large bowl. Add the sauce and stir until all the ingredients are well-coated.
  • Chill for 10-30 minutes. (Or up to 4 hours.)
  • Stir in the bacon bits and sunflower seeds right before serving.

Notes

  • You can use up to a pound and a half of broccoli.
  • I like this salad served immediately, but some people like it best after it has been chilled for several hours.
