Sauce:
- ¾ cup mayonnaise not Miracle Whip salad dressing!
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Salad:
- 1 pound fresh broccoli florets chopped in bite sized pieces
- 4 green onions sliced (or 1/4 of a red onion)
- 1 cup Craisins
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 12 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
- ¾ cup roasted salted sunflower seeds
Cook your bacon until very crisp. Let cool, then crumble.
Combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Whisk till smooth. Cover and chill until ready to use.
Wash and chop the broccoli and celery.
Place the chopped broccoli, onions, Craisins, and celery in a large bowl. Add the sauce and stir until all the ingredients are well-coated.
Chill for 10-30 minutes. (Or up to 4 hours.)
Stir in the bacon bits and sunflower seeds right before serving.
- You can use up to a pound and a half of broccoli.
- I like this salad served immediately, but some people like it best after it has been chilled for several hours.
