- 1 pie crust unbaked (9 inches)
- ½ pound Jimmy Dean pork sausage or another brand
- ½ cup finely diced onion
- ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese or colby jack
- ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 5 large eggs
- ½ cup whole milk or 2%
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Cook sausage and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat till brown, drain well. Spread in the bottom of the pie shell.
Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top of the cooked sausage mixture.
Beat the eggs, milk, and seasonings in a small bowl. Pour the egg mixture into the pie shell on top of the other ingredients.
Bake in a preheated oven at 375° for about 40-50 minutes, or till crust is golden brown and a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- I find that baking the quiche on the lowest oven rack helps prevent a soggy crust on the bottom.
- Leftover quiche can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days in an airtight container.
