Ingredients
  

Streusel:

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp soft butter
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Batter:

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 large apples peeled and thinly sliced (I used Granny Smith)

Instructions
 

  • Mix streusel ingredients in a small bowl till crumbly; set aside.
  • Cream sugars and butter in a large bowl; beat in eggs, then milk and vanilla.
  • Stir in dry ingredients just till barely combined.
  • Spread half of batter in well greased 9×13" pan. Sprinkle with half of crumb mixture.
  • Arrange apple slices evenly over the crumbs. Drop remaining batter in spoonfuls on top of apples and spread as evenly as possible. (It’s OK if there are a few small gaps, it will fill in as it bakes.)
  • Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.
  • Bake at 325° for about 60-68 minutes or till toothpick comes out clean.
