Combine butter and one cup of chocolate chips in a glass bowl. Melt in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds till smooth. Set aside.
Whisk together the sugars, flour, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Slowly beat in the melted chocolate mixture at low speed. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
Fold in the vanilla, pecans, coconut, and 1/4 cup chocolate chips.
Pour mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Bake at 350° for about 35-40 minutes, or till set. Be careful not to over-bake.
Serve warm with ice cream, or at room temperature.
