Merry Christmas to all you wonderful readers!!! I am thrilled that you take the time to visit my little blog, and leave me comments. I was touched by all the kind and supportive comments you left about my adoption hope chest. With all the extra prayers coming our way, we should find our baby girl soon. Thanks so much for your support!!!
I will be taking a blogging break for a few days to spend time with my family. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend with your loved ones.
Before I go I want to sneak in one last handmade Christmas gift idea. I actually like this one so much that I may leave it up all year.
I saw this idea on Studio 5 (a local show). Kristine McKay shared it in a segment about neighbor Christmas gifts. She is fabulous and I always get excited when she is on the show. Her version looked like this:
Totally cute, right? All you need is a 4×4" block of wood, some spray paint (or craft paint), a candle in a glass holder, strong glue, and some embellishments. So simple. I loved her version, but it didn't quite fit with my decor, so I came up with a different design.
I painted my block using black spray paint. Then I sanded the edges. I wanted to have it say something about the real meaning of Christmas. I wanted something to go along with the light theme so it fit with the candle. After a lot of brainstorming, I finally came up with "Wise men still follow the light."
I cut some vinyl letters with my Silhouette and attached them to the front. I used E6000 glue to attach the candle, then I tied a strip of canvas around the middle. I looove it!!
This easy little Christmas craft is the perfect reminder for me that Christ is the reason we are celebrating!!
