Add some personality to your Christmas gifts this year with these simple Duck Tape Gift Tags!
I don’t know about you, but around this time of year, I am always on the lookout for cute Christmas gift tags. I love the personal touch that they add to gifts. Even a simple bag of candy is more fun to give (and receive) if it comes with a cute tag. When I was sent some holiday Duck Tape®, I knew I wanted to use it to make some handmade gift tags!
I tried a few ideas, but finally settled on printable gift tags that I could embellish with Duck Tape®. These are the two designs I was sent, but there are lots more to choose from. You can see all the designs at the Duck the Halls website. My favorite is the Candy Cane!
Merry Christmas Duck Tape Gift Tags
-Scissors (I like using non-stick scissors when working with sticky tapes.)
-Tiny hole punch (optional)
It doesn’t get much simpler than this. Just print the free gift tags and cut them out. Then attach a strip of Duck Tape® to the bottom edge. I found that it worked best to use the straight edge of the tape across the tag and do two tags at one time.
Penguin Christmas Gift Tag Instructions:
–Scissors (I like using non-stick scissors when working with sticky tapes.)
–Tiny hole punch (optional)
First you need to make your penguin scarf. Cut a piece of Duck Tape® about 3″ long. Fold each of the sides in about 1/4″. Cut each of the folded edges off, saving the sticky middle piece for later. To make the scarf end, fold one of the edge pieces in half at an angle and secure with a tiny piece of Duck Tape® folded over. Then cut little slits in the ends for the fringe. You will get two scarf ends out of one piece.
Print and cut out the penguin gift tag. Place the center sticky piece of Duck Tape® across the tag, just under the penguin’s beak.
Now cut off the excess tape at the ends, and attach the end of the scarf with a tiny folded up piece of Duck Tape®. Isn’t he the cutest? And yes, for those of you who are observant, I did add some eyebrows. 🙂
I whipped up some loaves of poppy seed bread, put them in little plastic gift bags, and added the Duck Tape gift tags. A simple and cute gift for my neighbors!
