White Chocolate Cinnamon Pretzels

cinnamon-pretzels, recipe

This is another great recipe that I got from Leigh Anne over at yourhomebasedmom. I love pretzels dipped in chocolate, so when I saw this recipe I knew I had to try it. They are incredibly easy and so, so good.

I do have to add a disclaimer though. Her recipe calls for an 18oz bag of pretzels. I only had a huge bag of pretzels and I had no idea how many cups of pretzels are in 18oz. I searched online for probably 45 minutes, couldn’t find the answer, and became really ticked off increasingly frustrated. Finally I gave up. I just guesstimated how many pretzels  I should use. I also decreased the oil because I am just like that.

They are phenomenal and I love the addition of the cinnamon sugar. It takes them up a notch from basic chocolate dipped pretzels.

 White Chocolate Cinnamon Pretzels

9-10 cups of pretzels
1/2 cup oil
1/3 cup sugar + 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup white chips
1 Tbsp oil or shortening
Pour pretzels into large plastic or glass bowl and drizzle with oil. Stir to coat. Add cinnamon sugar mixture and stir till all pretzels are evenly coated. Cook in microwave for about 3 minutes, stirring every 60 seconds. Spread into a single layer on waxed paper or cookie sheets. Let cool. Melt together white chips and oil till smooth, drizzle over pretzels. Let cool till chocolate is set.
I divided them into cellophane bags, tied them with a ribbon, and attached a tag. My boys delivered them to their teachers and bus driver.
The recipe made four bags. It probably actually makes five, but my pretzels kept mysteriously disappearing. Hmm, I wonder where they went? 😉
