Easy Fall Decor: No-Sew Fabric Banner

We are enjoying fabulous fall weather here in Utah. I love fall, so I am over the moon happy about it! Of course with fall weather, I am more motivated to get out my fun fall decor. I showed you my fall entry table on Tuesday and promised to share the tutorial for the fall banner. I used some fall fabric I had in my stash, and I love how it turned out!

This is an easy no-sew banner that I whipped up in under an hour. You can use any fabric you like to match your fall decor. It can be made mini like mine, or larger to hang across a mantel. It is very versatile!

Easy Fall Decor: No-Sew Fabric Banner Tutorial

Supplies:
-Fabric scraps
-Wonder Under Heat ‘n Bond
-Fabric Scissors
-Iron
-Pencil
-Canvas scraps
-Jute
–Free printable pattern

Instructions:

1- If you don’t want your canvas to fray, iron some Wonder Under heat n’ bond on the back. Don’t remove the paper yet! (This step is optional. If you want a more rustic frayed edge, that is totally fine. Just skip to step #2.)fall-banner-tutorial2-Use the free pattern and trace your banner piece onto the paper side of the Wonder Under.

4-Carefully peel off the paper backing, then iron your fabric onto the front of your canvas.

easy-fall-decor6- Repeat steps 2-5 for as many banner pieces as you need. Then peel the paper backing off of each of them if you applied it.
fabric-banner-tutorial7- Cut a piece of jute, several inches longer than you want your banner to be. Hot glue each of the pieces onto the jute.
fall-banner-fall-decor8- Now you have a cute fall banner to use in your fall decor! I hung mine on the mirror over my entry table. I love how it adds a splash of color!

I love this! I don’t have any canvas scraps, but I do have some burlap. Do you think that would work just as well?

      Sandy,
Yes, I think burlap would be awesome on the back! Just skip the first step because the wonder under shows through the holes in the burlap and looks a little funny. (tried it) 🙂
