Master Bedroom Love Bird Sign . . . make this sign any size or color to match your decor. A fun DIY project for the master bedroom.
We’ve been in our new house for almost a year. I can’t even believe it’s been that long, the time has flown by! With the setback of major surgery for me and a new job for my husband, most of our renovations are still a work in progress. I am slowly starting to get decorations on the walls.
I actually made this wood love bird sign at our old house, and hung it for staging. It was great to finally find a new place for it in our new master bedroom. The rest of the room isn’t done yet, but at least one wall is pretty. Baby steps.
I love the fun texture of this sign. And of course you can adapt it to any size and color you want. I’ve gone with relaxing blues in our master bedroom. I need all the help I can get trying to fall asleep! Of course, I think this sign would be totally cute in bold colors like red and yellow. Use whatever you love.
HOW TO MAKE A WOOD LOVE BIRD SIGN
-Scrap piece of wood (I found one at a thrift store)
-Sandpaper and spackling or wood filler (optional)
–Sawtooth hangers and hammer
–Heat ‘n Bond
–Love chipboard word
–Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Sand your board smooth (spackle any holes if needed). Paint it the color of your choice. I painted mine white using latex paint I had on hand. After it’s dry, add sawtooth hangers to the back.
Paint your chipboard word and set it aside to dry.
Print out the bird image and cut out. Trace birds onto the paper side of the heat’n bond. Iron onto your fabric and cut out with sharp fabric scissors.
Hot glue the branch onto your board.
Glue both of the birds onto the branch using hot glue.
Hot glue the chipboard word onto the board.
That’s it, you’re done!
I hung mine in a small grouping in our master bedroom. I love how it turned out!
