Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes

Are you still trying to decide what to make for Thanksgiving? I know I’m still trying to narrow down my pie choices. I always have a hard time deciding if I should use trusted family favorites, or branch out and try something new. Usually I make some of both. And boy this year my choice is harder than ever. Now that I’m a Pinterest addict, I have even more pie recipes on my “to try” list than ever before!

If you’re still on the hunt like I am, here are a few of our favorite Thanksgiving recipes.
Enjoy! :)

Turkey and Mashed Potatoes

You can’t have Thanksgiving without turkey. Well, I guess technically you could, but please don’t tell me about it. It’s practically un-American! The most moist and flavorful turkey I’ve ever had is made in an unconventional way. (No, it’s not fried.) Your guests might look at you a little strangely, but they’ll get over it once they taste it. :)
Mashed potatoes are another Thanksgiving staple. We love these Garlic Mashed Potatoes so much that once I found them, I’ve never even tried another recipe. That is pretty epic for me, because I’m kind of a freak when it comes to recipe experimentation.

Rolls
This year, OK, pretty much every year, I am in charge of rolls. I love homemade rolls. Who doesn’t? These Yummy White Rolls are the ones I almost always fall back on. They are soft, fluffy, and always a hit.

Oatmeal Rolls are super soft and yummy, even when I use part whole wheat flour. And because they contain oats, you are totally justified in eating more than one. ;)

And if you’re looking for something different, give these Cornmeal Rolls a try. They bake up such a pretty color, and they have wonderful flavor and texture.

Side Dishes
If you’re looking for a quick and easy vegetable that tastes great, these Sweet Baby Carrots fit the bill. My family loves them, and they add a beautiful color to your Thanksgiving table.

And if your family is more into sweet side dishes, give this Autumn Apple Salad a try. The dried cranberries are perfect for Thanksgiving, and the toasted almonds make it extra special.

Pies

My 11 year old has requested this Creamy Chocolate Pie for Thanksgiving this year. It is his very favorite. Not only is it delicious, but it is a snap to throw together!

This Cherry Almond Mousse Pie is my husband’s all time favorite dessert, so he’s hoping it makes the Thanksgiving menu this year. It is divine!

We have to have an Apple Pie every year, and this recipe is my all time favorite. If you like crumb apple pies, you’ve gotta give it a try! There’s a reason we call it “Evil Apple Pie”.
