Easy Sausage Quiche – this delectable savory pie is loaded with eggs, cheese, and sausage, so you know that every bite is going to be amazing! It’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner any day of the week.

I FINALLY FOUND THE PERFECT QUICHE RECIPE
I don’t remember ever having quiche when I was growing up, even though my mom made pie all the time. I think the first time I tried it was at a bridal shower brunch. I loved it, but forgot to get the recipe.
After I had been married for a few years, I started trying quiche recipes, hoping to find one my family would eat. None of them were a hit.
Then I got this sausage quiche recipe from a friend. It doesn’t call for any fancy ingredients, and it comes together in a snap. But the best part? My whole family loves it!
DINNER OR BREAKFAST QUICHE RECIPE
This sausage quiche is great for brunch, and it’s always a hit at baby and bridal showers. When I serve it for breakfast, I usually just whip up a fruit smoothie to go with it.
But to be honest, we usually have it for dinner. It’s wonderful paired with seasonal fresh fruit, but sometimes I whip up some sour cream fruit salad.
Whenever you serve it, it’s sure to be a hit with girly girls and manly men alike. 🙂

HOW TO MAKE SAUSAGE QUICHE
Ingredients needed:
- 9″ pastry crust, unbaked (I usually make it from scratch, but premade works great too.)
- ground pork sausage (breakfast sausage)
- diced onion (I use diced yellow onion, but in a pinch you can substitute 1-2 tablespoons of dried minced onion.)
- mozzarella and cheddar cheese (Sharp cheddar cheese has the best flavor, but my kids prefer mild, so that’s what I use.
- eggs (I use large eggs.)
- milk (I use 2%, but any type of milk should work.)
- salt and pepper
- PREP – If you are using a frozen pie crust, thaw it. Or make your favorite pie crust recipe and press it into a 9-inch deep dish pie plate.
- SAUTE – Cook sausage and onion in a skillet over medium high heat till brown, drain well. Spread evenly in the bottom of the quiche crust.
- CHEESE – Sprinkle both the grated cheeses evenly over the top of the sausage.
- SAVORY FILLING – Combine eggs, milk, and seasonings in a small bowl, whisk until frothy. Pour into the pie shell on top of the other ingredients.
- COOK – Place the pie pan on the lowest oven rack and bake at 375°F oven for about 40-50 minutes, or till crust is light brown and a knife comes out clean.

I like to garnish the baked quiche with green onions, but you can also add a dollop of sour cream, salsa, or a dash of hot sauce.
LEFTOVER QUICHE?
Quiche is definitely best fresh when the crust is hot and flaky, but it’s still tasty after a day or two. If you have any leftovers, make sure you store them in the refrigerator. Cover the quiche tightly and it will last for about 3 days. You can heat individual slices in the microwave.
I don’t personally like freezing egg dishes. But if you must, just make sure you wrap the quiche well in a couple layers of plastic wrap or wrap it and place it in an airtight container. It will last for 1-2 months.
VARIATIONS:
- For an even more rich egg custard, you can use heavy cream, half & half, or evaporated milk.
- If you prefer, you can substitute Italian sausage for the ground pork.
- Feel free to add any vegetables of your choosing. Green onions, diced green pepper, or even fresh spinach are tasty.
- We like a mix of mozzarella and cheddar cheese, but you can use any cheese your family loves.
- For a spicy kick, try pepper jack cheese, and you could even stir in some red pepper flakes, diced green chilies or jalapenos.

Cheesy Sausage Quiche Recipe

Savory sausage, onions, cheese, and savory egg custard nestled in a flaky crust. This easy quiche recipe will be an instant family favorite!
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust, unbaked (9 inches)
- 1/2 pound Jimmy Dean pork sausage (or another brand)
- 1/2 cup finely diced onion
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or colby jack)
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 5 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk (or 2%)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Cook sausage and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat till brown, drain well. Spread in the bottom of the pie shell.
- Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top of the cooked sausage mixture.
- Beat the eggs, milk, and seasonings in a small bowl. Pour the egg mixture into the pie shell on top of the other ingredients.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375° for about 40-50 minutes, or till crust is golden brown and a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Notes
-I find that baking the quiche on the lowest oven rack helps prevent a soggy crust on the bottom.
-Leftover quiche can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days in an airtight container.

Whether you are looking for a hearty breakfast, brunch, or dinner recipe, this sausage cheese quiche recipe fits the bill.
Can I add more eggs…
I think that should be fine, just make sure you don’t add so many that the pan overflows. That wouldn’t be fun.
What is a 1/2 pound of ground pork sausage? Is it 8 Oz or 16 Oz?Cant wait to make this.Yummy!
Making this today. Can I just use cheddar cheese?
Delicious!! Do you know the calorie count by chance?? Thank you
I just made this for my family and it came out really good. The last ten minutes I put a tin pie pan over the top cause for some reason the center was almost completely raw. Other wise this was a killer recipe thank you. I also added jalepeno to it. Thank you for the recipe!
Just tried your recipe it was great I added a little spinach to Veg it up, it was delicious!
I love that idea, I’ll have to give it a try!
I love this recipe!!! (Or actually my boyfriend does.. he talked about it for days..) ????
Haha, glad it made your boyfriend happy! 🙂
I made this and it turned out great. I cut the cook time down to 30 minutes. I also used glass pie pans, instead of the tin pie pans. It was delicious.
Happy to hear that it turned out for you! 🙂
I tried this recipe and I don’t know what happened it. Maybe it’s my oven but this turned out super fricken burnt.
So sorry to hear that your quiche burned! 🙁 It very likely could be your oven. In my last house I had two ovens and I had to lower the temperature on one of them by at least 50 degrees or it burned everything. You can definitely try lowering the temperature, or cooking it for less time.
