I love peanut butter and chocolate! However, given the nutrient counts for one bar (out of 20) (Calories: 394; Total Fat: 22g; Saturated Fat: 10g; Trans Fat: 0g; Unsaturated Fat: 11g; Cholesterol: 63mg; Sodium: 273mg; Carbohydrates: 44g; Fiber: 2g; Sugar: 31g; Protein: 7g), can a sugar substitute be used, such as date sugar, Splenda, monkfruit, allulose, Stevia, etc. in the brownie portion of the recipe?

I haven’t personally tried using a sugar substitute, but if you are comfortable using it in similar recipes, I would definitely give it a try! Also, cutting it into 20 squares does make large brownies, so you could always cut them into smaller portions. 🙂

I usually have the huge bags from Costco, but I think a 17 ounce bag would be plenty, and you might be able to get by with a 10 ounce bag.

Can these be frozen? Was thinking of making them ahead of time for a party…

The hardest part to these would be making sure my family didn’t eat all of the peanut butter cups before making it! Looks perfect!
