We are enjoying some fabulous spring weather here in Utah and I am loving it!! Not only am I enjoying the sunshine, the blooming flowers and budding trees, and the happy sound of birds chirping, but I am also able to participate in one of my favorite activities.

Nope, it’s not gardening. It’s SPRAY PAINTING!!!! Woohoo! I have missed my little cans of paint. They make me happy. 🙂

I finished one project up on Friday. It is also an organizing project, so it fits right in with my spring cleaning. Bonus!! I found a spice rack at the thrift store for $3. Lots of times they are missing the containers, so I was excited when I saw this one with all the little jars. I was so excited to use it that I actually filled the jars before I did the makeover.

Here is what it looked like before:

It’s not hideous or anything, I just wanted it to match my craft room. That’s right, it won’t be holding spices any more. I’m using it to hold all the embellishments I use to make hair clips and bows.

It was a super easy project. I washed the jars and lids and let them dry really well. Lightly sanded the wood and wiped off all the dust. Then I sprayed the lids with spray paint made for plastic. Then sprayed all the wood with regular spray paint.

Here is my little “spice” rack now:

It is sooo nice having all my beads and buttons organized and easy to find. They used to be in a bin and I’d have to dig through all the little packages to find what I needed. I love this so much better!!

Oh, and all you Utahians, don’t forget that you can get free tickets to the Women’s Expo in Orem right here.
