The Front Porch- Spruced Up For Spring

If you’ve followed me for long, you know that I love decorating the inside of my home for spring. Unfortunately, when it comes to the outside of my house, things are pretty barren. Which is pretty sad, because that’s what every single person sees when they come to our home. I made a goal this year to spruce up the front porch as soon as the weather got warm enough.Front porch decorated for spring.

Imagine my delight when Balsam Hill contacted me asking if I would be interested in trying out a few of their outdoor greenery items. Woot Woot!! They are known for gorgeous Christmas greenery, but they also have beautiful flower arrangements, and my favorite- Boxwood. Love that stuff! They sent me two Outdoor LED Boxwood Wreaths. One will got on my back deck, but this one was used to add some curb appeal to our front porch. I decorated a little nook at the side, and I love how the space turned out!
Porch Nook Makeover-006-1The gorgeous wreath is obviously the focal point. I decided to make a wood sign to hang it on, and it was so easy, but makes such a big impact!
Boxwood Wreath Sign for the Front PorchHere’s another shot of it from the side. Love the color and the texture that it adds to the porch. And it has lights, so it will add a nice ambiance during the evenings. I wanted to get a photo of it lit up last night, but we ended up having a rain and wind storm, so I wasn’t able to. That will have to wait for another day.
Front porch decorating ideasThis chair started out white and covered in rust. I spray painted it and made a cushion, and now it looks just like new. (I’ll be sharing a tutorial later for how to update rusty old furniture.) I can’t wait to sit in it sipping ice cold drinks and watching my kids play in the front yard. 🙂
Spring Front Porch Decorating IdeasAnd last but not least, I added a fresh coat of paint to a metal side table, and topped it with a pail of succulents. I actually got them at the SNAP conference that I attended a couple of weeks ago. Aren’t they gorgeous?
Spring decor ideas for the front porch. It’s amazing how just a few items can make such a difference, isn’t it? I am looking forward to decking out the rest of the front porch, but for now, this is such a happy place. Such an improvement over the drab corner that was there yesterday. 🙂
Porch Nook Makeover Before and After

Since Mother’s Day is just a couple days away, I want to give a little shout out to my amazing mom. She has always been my best friend, and knows how to cheer me up like nobody else. She is also the one who taught me to love and look for beauty around me. We both love organization and being surrounded by pretty things! She was here last week, and I had my dad snap a photo of me, my mom, and my daughter. I don’t know if I can be as amazing of a mother to Rachel as my mom is to me, but I’m sure giving it my best shot. Happy Mother’s Day mom!!
Three Generations-001-1I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and remember to let your mom know how much she means to you!!

Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post, but I was given free wreaths from Balsam Hill. They are beautiful, and I’m loving them. 🙂
