Chocolate Truffle Fudge Cookies . . . these soft and fudgy cookies just melt in your mouth. A truly decadent chocolate cookie recipe!

I mentioned that my hubbie and son are away at scout camp. They come home tonight. Yay! My husband was in charge of one of the meals.

I made Cafe Rio Pork with Crock Pot Black Beans, he did all the fixins. They requested cookies for the dessert because they are easy to transport.

I couldn’t make anything with chocolate chips, because they had to withstand being stored in 90° temperatures. I made Snickerdoodles, but I also wanted to include some type of chocolate cookie. Cuz we all know that everyone loves chocolate. 🙂

These Chocolate Fudge Cookies will remind you of truffles. So decadent!

I found this recipe for fudge cookies in a Taste of Home cookbook and modified it slightly to fit my needs. It called for rolling the dough in chocolate sprinkles, but I didn’t have any, so I rolled them in sugar.

I tried some in regular sugar and some in powdered sugar. The ones in white sugar are prettier, but my kids liked the ones in powdered sugar better.

The original recipe also called for chocolate chips. That would have defeated my whole purpose of not having a mess of melted chocolate everywhere, so I left them out. I love chocolate chips, and lots of ’em, but I honestly don’t think these cookies need them.

These cookies were so darn good it was hard for me to send them all with the scouts. But my hips are thanking me!

I also have to mention the dough for these cookies. Guys, it is seriously amazing! Like, some of the best I’ve ever had. Smooth and creamy, kind of like fudge. And since it doesn’t have any eggs, you can eat as much as you want. That was a bad thing in my case. 😉

Just don’t eat so much of the dough that you don’t have enough left for cookies. 😉
