Remember awhile ago when I told you I was working on re-decorating our living room? What, you don’t remember? OK, I don’t blame you. I think it was sometime back in the Jurassic period. I would have forgotten about it too if I didn’t have to look at it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Well, I am pleased to announce that I am finally making progress. Not a lot, but at least it’s a step.
I’m taking it one wall at a time. I started with the largest and most important one. The wall above the couch, (that everyone can see when they come to my front door), is no longer nekked. Hurray!! Here is what I have so far:
I got the corbels at a garage sale for $2 each and spray painted them. I filled them with rocks from the dollar store. The greenery was bought on sale at Hobby Lobby. Love that place! I plan on wrapping them with ribbon as soon as I can find the right blue color. It needs to match the fabric I bought to upholster the two chairs that will sit across from the couch. And I am going to add more pillows to the couch.
The painting in the middle. It has special meaning for our family. That little boy standing by the Savior. He’s our little boy. Our six year old. Our neighbor is an amazing artist, and he used our son as the model. The title of the painting is “I Will Always Love You”. I almost cry every time I look at it. So amazing. I’m going share a little bit more about it for my Sunday inspiration message this week. Isn’t it stunning?
Looking so beautiful. I like this wall decoration. I was looking for same and I am full of inspiration now.
hello, I’m from Brazil and loved this painting! Is there any way I can have a copy of that image? I would love to give to my pregnant sister. She’s having a baby boy.
So beautiful, congratulations!

Wow! I love the artwork! Gotta love talented friends and neighbors whoe want to use your kids as models. And it looks great on your wall with all the accents.
Hi there!
I love this post. I have so many bare walls and have been slowly but surely figuring out how to get rid of the naked look lol! I still have a pretty tall vaulted wall in my living room that is BARE. Your wall looks lovely š Oh, and the picture with your little boy painted in…priceless.
Have a wonderful evening!

Hi,
That picture is absolutely beautiful. What an amazing artist!
XoXo
That looks great! I love that painting. Hey, who’s Brittany? I had Leon Parson as an art teacher too! Great guy.
that is so COOL that your son got to be a model for a painting! My art teacher in college was Leon Parson (Del Parson’s brother) He’s the one who does all the really famous pictures of Christ for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Being in his class we occasionally got to meet his brother Del so we got to see a lot of cool things in his class. I always thought it would be so cool to be a model for one of his paintings. Who is the artist of that painting? I love it.
Looks good! I’m at the point where I don’t think I’ll ever get around to hanging anything on the wall ever again! AAAHHHHH!
That picture is divine! Looks great!
Kara,
That looks amazing! It made my eyes water up just reading it and seeing thinking of cute little Justin.
Your couch, wall color, greenery and corbels go so perfectly with the picture!
Thanks Heidi!!
